Dr. Carl Thong

Carl began his career as a business analyst with a biotechnology consulting firm in Portland, Oregon. A serial entrepreneur, investor, and advisor, he founded Sunstone Group as a platform for building, investing in, and supporting businesses across healthcare, technology, financial services, education, hospitality, and professional services. He is also general partner at Eagle Venture Fund, an adjunct professor at Singapore Management University, and a member of YPO.

Carl has founded and exited multiple ventures and completed hundreds of consulting assignments for organizations worldwide. His experience spans corporate and commercial strategy, market entry, business development, venture building, sales, partnership development, and leadership and organizational development.

Doctorate in Strategic Leadership, Corban University; Master's in Theological Studies, University of Northwestern-St. Paul; Bachelor's in Business Administration, Lewis & Clark College.

Ethan Thong

Ethan is a pre-med student and young entrepreneur with a strong interest in healthcare, science, technology and business. At 18, he opened his first investment account and founded a Young Investors Club to encourage his closest friends to learn about investing and long-term wealth creation. He is also a member of YNG, the YPO Next Generation network.

Ethan contributes a next-generation perspective and has a particular interest in biotechnology, medical diagnostics, medical technology and emerging healthcare solutions. He brings curiosity, discipline, responsibility and teamwork to every engagement.

Within engagements, he supports market and competitor research, prepares materials for prospective partners, tracks the pipeline through each stage and keeps follow-up moving between meetings. Working alongside Carl, he is gaining practical experience in how commercial relationships are built, from the first introduction through to a signed agreement.
